Desertquest Revamped

Desertquest was the first CAW world I made and oh boy did I make mistakes! I decided to revamp, update and fix it, and here is the result.

Desertquest is intended as a quest based mini-game. The story revolves around three friends exploring their world on horseback, as they try to make their fortunes. The world is divided into separate areas, with their own people, cultures and unique looks. Each area has a quest or secret to explore. You don’t, obviously, need to play it this way – the world is yours to play with as you choose :).

There are two downloads; the first is the unpopulated world, which you install by double clicking (once you’ve unzipped it).

The second is a Save file – this contains the population and story. This is placed in your Saves folder (unzipped) in Documents-Electronic Arts-The Sims 3-Saves. Start your new game from this save.

Desertquest Unpopulated World

Desertquest Save file

This is a Large World and does not contain any roads, only a few paths (so you will get no service NPC’s who rely on vehicles).

You need the following EP’s & Worlds to be able to play this world: Ambitions, Generations, Island Paradise, Late Night, Pets, Seasons, Supernatural, World Adventures,  Riverview, Midnight Hollow, Monte Vista, Dragon Valley, Barnacle Bay.

I also used the Duke of Bows Renaissance Faire a lot, but you don’t have to own it to play this world – the items will just be replaced.

Now it’s picture time! 😛

In comparison, this is what the world used to look like before the revamp:
